The James R. Thorpe Foundation supports organizations serving youth ages 12-18 and seniors age 55+ in Minneapolis and its first and second-ring suburbs. The Foundation awards two-year grants for general operating support or for specific programs.

As a modest-sized grantmaker, the Foundation uses its philanthropic resources to provide reliable support to smaller organizations that fall within our priority areas. Our funding approach is characterized by careful review of applications received, site visits with applicants under consideration and long-term funding relationships.
